Built after the 1693 major earthquake, Via Etnea (Etnea Street) is Catania’s main historical street. Along its almost 3km length there are several 18th and 19th century buildings, the entrance to the main city park (Villa Bellini), many retail shops and cafés. The entire street is paved with lava stone from Mt.Etna.
